The change comes after the federal government missed its stated small business contracting goal (23 percent of total procurement across all agencies) for the eleventh straight year in 2012.
The forum is geared towards U.S. military veterans, their spouses, and active duty, guard, and reservists who own, or are interested in starting, small businesses.
Veterans who attend the event will join small business experts from federal, state, and local organizations. The focus will be on starting and growing your small business.
Martha McSally, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel is the keynote speaker. The day will also feature a small business panel discussion on what to do to start or grow your business, financing workshops, testimonials from successful veteran business owners and a session on government contracting.
